A harbourside bushland retirement village
A $15 million job for Australian Super Developments (a subsidiary of the giant Cbus superannuation fund) constructing 50 self-care retirement apartments.
The location, on bushland adjoining Middle Harbour, is stunning. But it has plenty of challenges. Site space is tight and access is tricky. It's within an existing retirement village so current residents have to be kept in mind constantly. A traffic management plan was developed at the project's outset.
The development is in a bushfire zone, so it requires special screens, glass and an external sprinkler installation to reduce the risk of fire.
