Mr Arnall has had a distinguished thirty year career in the mining and steel industries including senior executive responsibility at Smorgon Steel Group, Tubemakers and ANI Limited. Mr Arnall is currently a non-executive director of Bradken Limited. Directorships of other listed companies over the past three years: Ludowici Limited and Macquarie Generation. Mr Arnall is a member of the Company’s Audit and Risk and Remuneration committees.
Mr Eggers has many years of executive and consulting experience focused on mining and energy services. He also has considerable experience in business improvement and implementation projects. He is a mechanical engineer by background and holds an MBA from Stanford University.
He was previously CEO of Vinidex Pty Ltd, a leading supplier of pipe systems and solutions to the resources, construction and housing industries. He was also a former CEO of Australian Drilling Services (renamed Easternwell), a company providing drilling services to the coal seam gas, mineral and infrastructure industries as well as holding various senior roles at Dyno Nobel, a manufacturer of mining explosives, including as Executive Manager Business Improvement and Senior Vice President Initiation Systems.
Among his consulting engagements, Mr Eggers was recently contracted by Goodman Fielder to manage a Business Improvement project where he oversaw significant cost reduction and revenue enhancement initiatives. He is also a former member of McKinsey & Company’s Implementation Group, where he focused on the mining industry.
Mr Ball is a managing director of Kerogen Capital (Asia) Limited, based in Hong Kong, with more than 25 years of experience in investment banking and private equity. Mr Ball trained as a chartered accountant at Ernst and Young in London before relocating to Hong Kong. He worked for many years as an investment banker at JP Morgan primarily covering the energy and natural resources sectors prior to working in private equity.He is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.
Mr Meares has many years of experience in the global civil infrastructure, mining and energy industries. He brings a deep knowledge of the management and control of complex engineering projects as well as a wide network of industry contacts.
Previous roles include Executive Director, Engineering and Infrastructure, with Brookfield Multiplex where he had responsibility for the delivery of large scale infrastructure projects throughout Australia, responsibility for Mine Infrastructure Delivery at Leighton Contractors, Group Manager Business Development at Clough Limited and Managing Director of Bechtel Australia. Mr Meares is Chairman of the Company’s Remuneration Committee.
Mr Purcell has a successful track record of managing distressed and underperforming companies to sustainable profitability. An engineer by background, Mr Purcell had a distinguished career in investment banking working with Macquarie Bank and Credit Suisse. He is also a former Director of Cougar Energy Ltd. and Realm Resources Ltd. in Australia.
More recently, he founded Teknix Capital in Hong Kong, a company specialising in the development and management of projects in emerging markets across the heavy engineering, petrochemical, resources and infrastructure sectors. Mr Purcell also has experience across Asian markets, having been a Director of a number of public companies in the region, including Bangkok Mass Transit System PCL and PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk.
He also has a deep knowledge of the unconventional gas industry and is involved in sourcing new supplies of such gas in Eastern Australia. He is a member of the Company’s Audit & Risk Committee.
Austen Perrin was appointed as the company’s Chief Financial Officer in December 2014. Prior to joining AJ Lucas, Austen was the chief financial officer for Whitehaven Coal Limited for over 5 years. He also previously held the group CFO roles with Asciano Limited and Pacific National Limited and was an executive director and divisional CFO of the listed Toll NZ Limited as well as holding various senior finance roles within the Toll Holdings group and TNT.
Mr Perrin has considerable knowledge of transport, infrastructure and the mining industries and has in depth experience across commercial, accounting and the finance spectrums. Prior to that he started his career with KPMG.
With more than a decade’s experience at Lucas, Brett has been responsible for some of the company’s most significant degasification projects and business growth initiatives. In 2007, he was appointed General Manager, Drilling and oversaw a period of rapid expansion, including the acquisitions of McDermott Drilling, Capricorn Weston Drilling and Mitchell Drilling. In 2011, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer with management responsibilities across all the Company’s operating divisions. He has been responsible for significant culture and management system changes, focused on ensuring Lucas becomes the leading coal and coal seam gas drilling services provider. Prior to joining Lucas, Brett held various operational and project management roles with Rio Tinto Coal and BHP.
John has forged a long and distinguished career with AJ Lucas spanning nearly 20 years during which he has successfully delivered numerous key engineering projects. John left the Company in 2011-2013 to expand his professional skill set in the role of COO with an ASX-Listed Mining Services Company. In 2013, having achieved his professional goals, John returned to Lucas where he is now applying his wide industry knowledge to lead business development.
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in London, Nick held various senior financial positions before joining AJ Lucas in 2001. He is responsible for corporate planning, risk management and insurance, investor relations and corporate governance.
Nicole has over 15 years’ experience in Human Resources and Industrial Relations across a diverse range of mining, energy and heavy industries, including over 6 years working with Lucas. Nicole holds a Masters of Employment Relations and is highly experienced across a broad range of HR and IR functions. Nicole is responsible for the People and Performance function, including HR and IR, Training and Learning and Development. Nicole is currently a member of the Lucas Executive Leadership Team.
In a career spanning over two decades and crossing many technology fields Andrew has developed, implemented, and supported numerous commercial and in-house applications systems. He has worked in a variety of roles including support for a global software developer, in-house database development for the superannuation industry, and more recently tier 1 ERP Implementation. Andrew enjoys working closely with business stakeholders to ensure ICT infrastructure services and systems are leveraged to maximize business benefits and savings while driving introduction of new technologies for competitive advantage.
